This palace is a small but aesthetically built dwelling quarters of the Sethu kings of Ramanathapuram, which is an hour's drive from Rameshwaram.
History buffs would find the place exciting, as it is connected to important events in our freedom struggle against the British (with whom the Sethu kings had allied). For instance, the heroic and rebellious native king Kattabomman was tried in this palace by the British officials, before they passed a verdict to execute him by hanging.
The place now houses a museum as well with interesting artifacts such as the weaponry and tools used a few centuries ago. There are wall art, which are tastefully done as well.
