Officially named the 'Indira Gandhi Sethu' by the powers that be, this is a two and half kilometres long bridge which connects the Rameshwaram island with the Indian mainland. This was the longest sea bridge in India before The Bandra - Worli sea link in Mumbai recently claimed that honour.
A drive through this bridge is guaranteed to offer breath-taking visuals of fishing boats, the parallel railway bridge, a 360 degree view of the sea, etc. in addition to the pleasantly wafting sea breeze.
