The Paradise Beach - a remote, pristine beach in Puducherry, is accessible only by a boat through the Chunnambar backwaters (Chunnambar = a Tamil phrase which means 'river of lime'). The boat ride to the beach lasts only 20 mins, but the wait for your turn on the boat could take an hour or two. The fictional Siddhartha's quote of "I can think, I can wait, I can fast" shall be your inspiration while standing in that never moving queue.
Once you set foot on the beach though, it is all yours. Slide through the photos to note the fun levels that are being had. There are beach guards who keep a watchful eye on those who venture out too far into the waters. Also available are restaurants and eateries serving sea food, other snacks and beverages.
A couple of fun filled hours later, it would be time to board the return boat back to civilization. The boating offers interesting sights as well, with coconut groves lined up on both sides of the river.
