The Athirappilly waterfalls is in the state of Kerala, but is only a few hours drive from Valparai. The Solaiyar river which commences its journey in the hills of Valparai, travels to Kerala and falls at Athirappilly, through a height of about 400ft.

The journey from Valparai is through a dense forest and lucky travellers might catch the sight of some wildlife such as langurs, and maybe other species. On the way, there are also the Solaiyar dam, and a smaller, but very turbulent waterfalls called Vazhachal.  The sights that one can see during the journey will remain in their memories forever. The route is almost along the Solaiyar river, which offers awesome viewing experiences throughout.
